Ways to give

Few things in life can replicate the positive feeling of helping children. Your donation will make a significant difference to the lives of current and future pupils, helping to enhance their educational, sporting and cultural experiences at the School. We warmly welcome gifts of any value as well as bequests. Listed below are a number of ways in which donations can be made to the school. Every contribution makes a difference!

Belfast Royal Academy is a Registered Charity - No. XN45048, so it is possible (if you pay UK income tax) to increase the value of your donation to the school and to reduce your income tax liability at the same time - please see our section on Gift Aid below.

Gifts of Support from The United States

To make a gift to the School and take a U.S. income tax deduction, you may make a donation to the British Schools & Universities Foundation (Federal Tax ID 13-616-1189), a charitable organization approved by the U.S. Internal Revenue Service under code Section 501(c)(3). You should express a preference for Belfast Royal Academy in your transmittal form, not on your cheque. Such preferences are respected by the Foundation but all grants are made at its sole discretion, as required by the IRS.

Increase your Donation with Gift Aid

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows the School as a charity to recover some of the tax which you, as a UK taxpayer, have already paid, or will pay, to the Inland Revenue, at the basic rate of income tax on the gross amount of each donation you make to the School. As a UK taxpayer, you can Gift Aid your donation and increase its value to Belfast Royal Academy by 25%, at no extra cost to you, which means another £25 for the school for every £100 donated.

To Gift Aid your donation, just complete the Gift Aid form below and click Submit. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer. If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you also benefit by signing this form, as you can receive tax relief of 20% of the gross value of the contributions made by completing the Gift Aid section in your Self-Assessment return.

Note: If you are making a donation from your company, it is not eligible for Gift Aid; however, you can treat the donation as an allowable expense, making a saving on corporation tax.

Gift Aid Declaration

I request that BELFAST ROYAL ACADEMY should benefit through the Gift Aid Scheme on all donations I make from the date of this declaration until I notify you otherwise.
