The 1785 Foundation is a new and important way in which you can support Belfast Royal Academy on a regular basis. The Foundation, named after the year the school was founded, is the principal means by which the entire Belfast Royal Academy community can support the School’s programmes and activities. Your ongoing contributions, big or small, will allow the School to plan its finances predictably and successfully every year.
You will become a member of the 1785 Foundation by making a periodic contribution and all Foundation members will receive news and information about the school as well as recognition in the Foundation’s membership review. Donors who contribute at higher levels will receive additional benefits including invitations to an annual reception and selected school events.
If you are a UK tax payer, we would be most grateful if you could please fill out the gift aid form below.
Gift Aid is a scheme which allows the School as a charity to recover some of the tax which you, as a UK taxpayer, have already paid, or will pay, to the Inland Revenue, at the basic rate of income tax on the gross amount of each donation you make to the School.
If you are a tax payer, by completing this Gift Aid Declaration, the school will receive an additional 25p for every £1 contributed, at no extra cost to yourself. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.
If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you also benefit by signing this form, as you can receive tax relief of 20% of the gross value of the contribution made by completing the Gift Aid section in your Self Assessment return.
Please notify us if you wish to cancel this declaration, change your name or address or if you no longer pay sufficient tax on your income. If you would like further information on Gift Aid please contact the Bursar's Office or visit www.gov.uk/donating-to-charity/gift-aid
Your regular contribution, even if modest, is important because the collective effect of small contributions using Gift Aid produces significant financial benefits for the school.
Joining the Foundation is the best way to provide support to the school.
30 donors giving £10 a month with Gift Aid over 3 years will raise £13,500 which could fund 200 hours of pupil counselling a year.
30 donors giving £30 a month with Gift Aid over a period of 3 years will raise £40,500 which could fund new ICT Equipment
After filling out a donation form, please complete the Gift Aid Form above and return via email to developmentoffice@belfastroyalacademy.net (UK tax payers only).
