Alumni

Old Girls’ Association

Welcome to Belfast Royal Academy’s Old Girls' Association. The Association has members from all over the world and is comprised of female past pupils and teachers from the school. Each year we run a number of social events to encourage networking, build new friendships and renew old ones. Since 2016 the Association has been a registered charity set up to enhance the education of all pupils at Belfast Royal Academy.

Our Afternoon Tea events have been a huge success over the last few years, with venues being booked to capacity. The informal atmosphere is the perfect setting to catch up with friends and reminisce.

Details of our next Afternoon Tea will be posted in due course.

We are delighted that many of our Members support the annual London and Edinburgh Alumni Dinners, which are excellent events held in the Spring.

One of our most enjoyable events is the infamous hockey match, when a team of OGA Members takes on the skills of the current 1st XI. The camaraderie between the teams is fantastic to see and is definitely worth coming to watch. Currently the OGA team hold the winning cup!

Each May we host a virtual sale of hanging baskets, planters and window boxes. Collection is from the School on a designated date in May. This has been a very successful event for a number of years. The quality of the plants has been outstanding. Details of any forthcoming plant sales or our Christmas wreaths will be posted on this page

In 2020 we launched our very own ‘Wine Club’ in association with Mill Girls Cloud. Please click on the link below to order our bespoke ‘Crombie 1880’ case of wine.

Gift Aid Scheme

Gift Aid is a scheme which allows the School as a charity to recover some of the tax which you, as a UK taxpayer, have already paid, or will pay, to the Inland Revenue, at the basic rate of income tax on the gross amount of each donation you make to the School.

If you are a tax payer, by completing this Gift Aid Declaration, the school will receive an additional 25p for every £1 contributed, at no extra cost to yourself. Your address is needed to identify you as a current UK taxpayer.

If you are a higher rate taxpayer, you also benefit by signing this form, as you can receive tax relief of 20% of the gross value of the contribution made by completing the Gift Aid section in your Self Assessment return.

  • Gift Aid Declaration

The Old Girls’ Association is also registered with Easyfundraising, which is an easy way to help us raise funds at no additional cost to you. The Association earns commissions from online purchases made by our members on popular shopping sites such as Amazon, Currys and Marks and Spencers.

So when you are next shopping online simply click www.easyfundraising.org.uk/causes/braoldgirlsassoc/?q=bra&cat=cause-autosuggest then shop as normal. A donation will be made to The Old Girls’ Association based on a percentage of what you spend online, at no extra cost to you!
