The Belfast Royal Academy Old Boys’ Association was established in 1931 and its objectives are to promote fellowship among former pupils, to support the school and to maintain links with the Board of Governors, teachers and pupils.
Life membership is open to Old Boys who attended the Belfast Royal Academy and male members of the teaching staff. Presently, there is no fee to join the Association.

Important events are held during the year to bring old boys together. The Annual Formal Dinner held in Belfast traditionally on the last Saturday in November is the main social function and this is supported by Dinners in London and Edinburgh in the spring.

Monthly informal lunches are held throughout the year in various golf clubs in the greater Belfast area. These serve as a great vehicle to meet old school friends and acquaintances and enjoy each other's company.
BRA Alumni Association - Business Breakfast Club Networking Events
The BRA Alumni Association invites you to join them at their bi-annual a Business Breakfast Club Meetings. These events are the perfect opportunity to meet up with colleagues and friends, network and make acquaintances and learn more about two local organisations. Attendees can mix and mingle from 8.00 a.m. before a full, hot, buffet breakfast and two short, lively speeches from fellow BRA alumni. The next event is on Wednesday 17th May at 8.00am in Ten Square Hotel, Belfast.

The annual cricket match against the school is held in June at The Castle Grounds. This year's match is on Friday 23d June 2023 at 2pm.

The Old Boys' Golf Society goes from strength to strength, holding 2 main competitions during the year. Firstly, the Picken Cup is contested at Malone Golf Club in June and Captain’s Day follows in September at Royal Belfast Golf Club. The Ferguson Trophy is presented for the best aggregate score over the two outings.

Such financial support has been made possible through the Association’s fundraising efforts, the Annual Dinner, and contributions from individual old boys etc.
The Membership fee is currently suspended. Membership is for life and new members are always welcome.
