We were delighted to recently welcome Catalyst into school to introduce Lower Sixth pupils to ‘Design Thinking’ and to update them about the work experience programme they offer to pupils annually in June. Their work experience programme is aimed at ambitious 17–18-year-olds interested in upskilling for the jobs of tomorrow. Students receive Design Thinking training over the course of five days, learning how to work as part of a team made up of students from across Northern Ireland. Their new skills are then put to the test to solve a real-world company challenge, developing a solution before pitching it to a partner company and their fellow students. This was a very interactive and informative workshop with pupils working in groups to come up with innovative solutions and pitching their ideas to the class. Many thanks to Catalyst for delivering the workshop.
