Our Art Department joined forces with the Library in October to celebrate both 'Inktober', the month long art-challenge and National Poetry Day by hosting a joint competition which challenged pupils to write a poem based on their Inktober drawing.
After much deliberation and a great entries, the judges chose Beth Strong (Form 3) for her thought provoking work entitled “Pressure”, which focused on encouraging females to see beyond physical appearance and to see the beauty and importance of what lies within them. Congratulations also to Adam Cleland (Form 1) and Charlei Hill (Form 3) on their 2nd and 3rd places for their respective works “Crystal” and “Raven”. All three pupils were awarded vouchers to spend at the Book Fair as well as writing sets.
Well done to everyone who participated in the competition and judges all agreed that the standard of work was exceptional.
