The Castle Grounds

The school Preparatory Department is located at 690 Antrim Road, bounded on one side by the Belfast Castle parkland, with a panoramic view over the Belfast Lough. This site also accommodates the playing facilities and pitches known as the Castle Grounds.  The site is some 3.6 km from the main school campus.  The pitches were constructed circa 1930 on an excavated cut and fill plateau.

The Castle Grounds is the location of the school’s premier cricket square and outfield (for which the grass hockey pitch and grass rugby pitch is used).  There is also another grass rugby pitch, used by both the Secondary and Preparatory Departments.

The Castle site has both changing and showering facilities.
