Aims-
To stimulate and maintain pupils’ curiosity, interest and enjoyment in Physics and be aware of its implications for the individual, the community and the environment

Curriculum

Key Stage 3
All junior pupils are taught Physics as a separate science by a specialist teacher

GCSE
Pupils follow the CCEA specification. Approximately 60% choose to study Physics as part of the Triple Award option. The remainder follow the Double Award Science specification. Coursework is worth 25% of the total examination mark.

AS/A2
Pupils follow the CCEA specification. We regularly have fifty pupils studying Physics at AS level, with approximately 80% of these progressing to A2 level.
Facilities and Resources
We have five laboratories, all of which have been recently refurbished. Each laboratory is equipped with an interactive whiteboard, a data projector and connections to the internet.
Pupil Destinations
The majority of our pupils progress to tertiary education at a wide range of Universities, including Oxford and Cambridge, to study Physics or Physics-related courses, such as engineering and medicine.
